Biography

During his previous term as coach from 2004 to 2017, Segesman was instrumental in establishing Mater Dei's Water Polo Program as a nationally renowned powerhouse that produced three Olympians in 2016: Bret Bonanni ‘12, McQuin Baron ‘14, and Thomas Dunstan ‘16. His leadership resulted in the boys team winning seven CIF-SS titles, including five in Division 1; while the girls team achieved three runner-up finishes in the CIF finals and a regional championship. A graduate of California State University, Long Beach, Segesman was a three-time All-American, a finalist for the Pete Cutino Male College Athlete of the Year and was inducted into the Long Beach State Athletics Hall of Fame in 2015.
