Coach Dullard enters his 6th season with Mater Dei in 2021-2022. He was named Orange County Coach of the Year by the OC Register after leading the girls to a 9-1 dual meet record and 3rd place finish at CIF D1 Finals in the 2019 season. In 2021, the girls placed 5th in the CIF Championships. In addition to being the Head Swim Coach, Kelly is an Associate Director of Athletics at MD.
Kelly comes to Mater Dei through Concordia University Irvine where he served as a Graduate Assistant to both the men’s and women's teams while earning his Masters in Coaching and Athletic Administration in 2016. While at Concordia he also served as a Graduate Assistant for Game Management and Sports Information, and has worked as the YMCA of San Diego County's Teen Program Coordinator and served at Costa Mesa Aquatic Club's head age group coach.
Growing up in Waterbury, Connecticut Kelly received his Bachelor of Science in Sport Management from Springfield College in Massachusetts. He was was a four year member of the swim team and competed in the IM and backstroke events. Kelly's experience with all age groups and diverse organizations make him a great fit on the MD coaching staff.
Rachel Guilkey (5th Year)
Coach Guilkey enters her 5th year as a member of the MD coaching staff. Also a 5th year English teacher at MD, Rachel brings 16 years of coaching experience at the high school level as well as the club level. Rachel has coached water polo and has worked with Junior Guards as well. We are excited to have a faculty member on staff and someone with the experience that Rachel has! Rachel works with our Intermediate and Varsity athletes.
Kale Kraiss (2nd Year)
Coach Kale Kraiss, out of Huntington Beach, CA, was a team captain for MD in 2014. Kraiss worked for 4 years in the United States Coast Guard conducting search and rescue operations in Washington State prior to being accepted into Chapman University’s psychology degree program. Having over 6 years of experience coaching age group, masters, and competitive high school teams, Coach Kraiss has transitioned well into working with both experienced and new swimmers alike at Mater Dei. He will be a valued part of our success in the upcoming 21-22 season!
Kylie Eggers (1st Year)
Coach Kylie Eggers is entering her 1st year as a part of the MD coaching staff. A recent graduate of the MD class of 2020, she currently attends California State University of Northridge as a Deaf studies major. During her time at MD, she was a team captain for the 2018-19 & 2019-20 seasons and the recipient of the 2020 Orange County athlete of character award. Prior, she was a volunteer swim coach at FAST working with age group swimmers. Kylie is looking forward to starting this pre-season and getting to know all the swimmers!
