      - Summer camp is mandatory for all returning runners

Summer Camp. Summer Camp is mandatory for all returning XC runners. Summer Camp is highly recommended for all 1st year Cross Country runners, especially if new runners have very little experience. Summer Camp participation is required to be considered for the XC / Track Block Athletic class.

DATES: Approximately Wednesday, July 6th, 2022 to the start of school.

XC / Track 2022-2023 Block Athletic Class Enrollment.  The block athletic class is for CIF, varsity, and potential varsity athletes ONLY. Placement requires Coach Martinez’s approval.  Athletes can still be on the Cross Country and Track teams and not be enrolled in this class. Cross Country runners are required to do Spring Track in order to be considered for this class, and to remain in the class. All runners and athletes must commit to competing at League Preview, Prelims and Finals for both for Cross Country and Track.

 

 

Next year (2022-2023) enrollment will require registration and participation in summer camp, either XC or Track, as well as 75% attendance in the summer camp. Athletes that are enrolled in 2021-2022 classes are not guaranteed enrollment for 2022-2023.

 

Any enrolled athlete that QUITS the XC and/or TRACK team will not be allowed to continue weight lifting in this class. If they are unable to transfer out, athletes will use the Block as a study period in the Athletic Department.

 

 

Season Attendance Policy.  ATHLETES ARE ALLOWED 5 ABSENCES TOTAL REGARDLESS OF THE REASON OR EXCUSE FOR MISSING PRACTICE.  THIS IS A “NO QUESTIONS ASKED” POLICY.  WE WILL NOT DIFFERENTIATE BETWEEN AN EXCUSED OR UNEXCUSED ABSENCE, OR AN ACCEPTABLE OR UNACCEPTABLE ABSENCE.  Athlete may be held out of meets if they miss any type of training. Athlete may be held out of meets if they miss Mondays, Tuesday, or Wednesdays.

Athlete may be dismissed from the team if absent more than the days indicated above. Illnesses and injuries will be considered but only if an athlete has a doctor's note indicating restrictions.  Vacations, and/or family occasions will count against the athlete if practice is missed.
